Chelsea has been a dental hygienist for 6 years. A few years ago she decided to combine her passion for dental health and psychology to create a career caring for those with dental anxiety and phobia.
Chelsea's research focus for the last several years has been dental anxiety and trauma-related dental phobia. She takes a holistic approach to dental anxiety by considering the biological, psychological, and social factors affecting a patient.
Chelsea also lives with Major Depressive Disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Her empathy for her patients comes from her own experiences living with mental health disorders. It is Chelsea's mission to advocate for those with mental health disorders as patients and as her colleagues in the field of dentistry.
